New Recruits Told: 'Protect State, Don't Expel Jews' from their homes

Members of an organization called “Parents of Soldiers” are holding a protest vigil outside the IDF Enlistment Office, reminding new recruits that their mission will be to protect the State – not expel Jews.

The participants are distributing to Israel's newest soldiers a short pamphlet explaining that IDF soldiers are obligated to act according to the IDF’s Code of Ethics.

Dr. Ron Breiman, a member of both Professors for a Strong Israel and Parents of Soldiers, explained to Arutz-7: “We are reminding the new enlistees that their job is to fight the enemy, and not to expel Jews from their homes.” More

A few hours before addressing the convention, its founder, Pastor John Hagee, explained how CUFI came to exist. “I went to Israel in 1978 as a tourist with a group of people from my church and I came home a Zionist,” he said. “I felt the presence of God in the city of Jerusalem like no place on earth.” Praying at the Western Wall, he realized he had to “do everything in my power to bring Christians and Jews together in an atmosphere of mutual esteem and acceptance.” More

PA controlled Jericho pumping raw sewage into the Jordan River

A call by environmentalists to halt the use of a Christian pilgrimage site due to pollution in the Jordan River may leave Christians with one less special place to visit for a while.

A recent report by the Ministry of Health has said that there is a higher than permitted level of harmful bacteria at the site and it is considering placing signs forbidding entering the water at the site. Drought has caused the Jordan to have less of a flow and when the waters pass PA controlled Jericho, they fill with raw sewage which seems to have caused most of the pollution. This led to concerns over the safety of continued baptisms at the site, resulting in the call to halt them. The area is now considered a closed military zone and any visitors who wish to enter it are required to coordinate their visit with the IDF. More

Barak: If Hezbollah attacks, we'll strike Lebanese gov't

Defense Minister Ehud Barak said in an interview to the Washington Post on Monday that if Hezbollah resumes firing rockets at Israel, the Israel Defense Forces will respond with a direct attack on Lebanese government institutions.

In an interview to the American paper ahead of his landing in the United States for an official visit, the defense minister warned that Israel would strike directly at the Lebanese government, since it is allowing Hezbollah to rearm. More
